  1. "Get URL" BBEdit/EasyView Extension
  2. -----------------------------------
  3. Version 1.2 of February 95

  5. This extension calls various Internet software to decode
  6. URL's.  Usable from BBEdit and Easy View.
  7.  
  8. Place the extension into your "BBEdit Extensions" and/or
  9. "EV Extensions" folder.  You don't need to restart the 
  10. machine, this is not a system extension.
  11.  
  12. "Get URL" recognizes 4 URL strings currently:
  13. * ftp:
  14. * /info-mac/
  15. * gopher:
  16. * http:
  17. The first two go to Anarchie and the last two to MacWeb.
  18.  
  19. Anarchie will fetch directly from an Info-Mac mirror, when
  20. the insertion point is on a file name that begins with
  21. "/info-mac/", another good reason to read the digests with
  22. Easy View.  (Set your I-M mirror in Anarchie Prefs)
  23.  
  24. These strings and their behavior are configurable with ResEdit.
  25. You can add/delete/modify STR# resources.
  26.  
  27. Full URL: Click within any URL that begins with "ftp:", "http:",
  28. "gopher:", or "/info-mac/" and choose the extension from the 
  29. menu.  (It helps to assign a command key)

  31. Partial URL: If you need part of the URL, just select it first. 
  32. Be sure your selection begins with one of strings above.

  35. this extension.
